Create the general framework of the green sustainability approach for UNITA actions.A benchmarking of green strategies across the UNITA alliance will be carried out, identifying key alignments and potential pooling of resources. Discussions will be held to unify criteria and clarify concepts. Partners will exchange best practises on green sustainability and the environment-focused curricula will be analysed to identify areas of collaboration. The Green UNITA project, a joint initiative prepared during UNITA firs phase, will be used as starting point.(M1-M6)
Design the UNITA Green Sustainability Action Plan. This action plan, aligned with the European green deal, and shaped by widely accepted and state-of-the-art metrics for universities, will define the main actions and initiatives with a potential impact on the green sustainability of UNITA. It will suggest sustainability and energy efficiency topics to be introduced into the curricula, promote sustainable mobility as an alliance priority, and seek to create a culture of sustainability in the UNITA community. In addition, it will discuss measures to reduce carbon footprint and energy consumption within UNITA, and present possible targets.(M7-M12)
Introduce sustainability topics into the students' curricula. With the purpose of preparing the graduates to address sustainability challenges in their future profession, short courses or modules on sustainability topics will be designed and offered for BA and MA students in collaboration with the academic responsible of the degrees. A redesign of existing courses to include the sustainability perspective in them will be also encouraged. Prizes for the best master's thesis on sustainability will be awarded. An offer of short courses or micro-credentials on green sustainability will be offered to lifelong learners.(M12-M48)
Promote green mobility. In cooperation with Task 2.4 (mobility) and interacting with students and staff, the most sustainable and healthy ways of transport between UNITA Campuses and around them will be identified and promoted. Green mobility will be adopted as the preferred type, and incentives to promote it will be introduced in all UNITA calls.(M12-48)
Create a culture of sustainability.Create a culture of sustainability in daily life, education, research and innovation. Different events, round tables and debates will be organized, including common events such as the "UNITA Day of Nature" , Challenge- based / Hands-on Workshops staff weeks, sustainability hackathons, or the "Sustainable Campus" Contest for the most innovative idea on how to make campuses more sustainable. In cooperation with Task 2.1, student organizations promoting sustainability will be connected.(M12-M48)
