Vice Rectors-Presidents Boards and Steering Committees[edit | edit source]
Political boards comprising VR/VP are established to provide high-level oversight and strategic feedback while maintaining the established operational Work Packages.
Specific tasks[edit | edit source]
- Providing political guidance to WP and TT co-leaders
- Ensuring deployment of UNITA’s mission and vision and guiding strategy development
- Providing strategic feedback on milestones and deliverables
- Facilitating resolutions on academic issues escalated from the operational level
- Ensuring continuous support to Rectors/Presidents in relation to UNITA governance
- Creating a community of practice of VR/VPs actively involved in the Alliance
Domains[edit | edit source]
The VR/VP Boards are formed around five strategic domains and related Tasks in the UNITA project:
- Education and Pedagogy Innovation: initiatives like teaching enhancement and micro-credentials
- Research and Innovation: thematic research hubs, inter-territorial innovation, open science strategies
- International Strategies and European values: mobility strategies and international relations policies
- Communities Building: student and staff engagement, dissemination initiatives, cooperative models
- Quality, Impact, and Sustainability: quality assurance, financial sustainability, impact observatory efforts
This structure fosters synergies across related Tasks and reduces the risk of isolated thinking in the current WP setup.
VR/VP Boards per group of strategies[edit | edit source]
Composition[edit | edit source]
Each VR/VP Board is composed of 12 VR/VPs representing all partner institutions and the specific domain experts. The full list for each board is available [here].
Meetings[edit | edit source]
- The five VR/VP Boards may convene independently for political discussions as needed.
- Every three months, each Board holds a Steering Committee—an enlarged meeting with the respective WP and TT co-leaders—via videoconference.
- WP co-leaders initiate and chair the Steering Committees, gathering inputs from TT co-leaders.
- Chairs for each domain:
** Education and Pedagogy Innovation – WP3 co-leaders ** Research and Innovation – WP4 co-leaders ** International Strategies and European values – WP2 co-leaders ** Communities Building – WP1 co-leaders ** Quality, Impact, and Sustainability – WP5 co-leaders
- Meetings are scheduled on the [UNITA Datacloud] calendar; convocations always CC the TT1.1 co-leaders, the EC, and the UOs.
- VR/VP Boards hold in-person sessions during UNITA Weeks and may optionally participate—onsite or online—during WP Staff Weeks.
