    Task number 1
Name UNITA personalised international learning paths
Strategic Axes Education and Pedagogical Innovation
    Workpackage UNITA Lifelong education

    Objectives

This Task aims at encouraging the internationalization and personalisation of study paths. Three main outcomes are expected, namely the design of common study paths, the creation of the “UNITA à la carte” model, and of the UNITA label. Based on UNITA first phase (D2.4: 3 replicable models of internationalised curricula) and on the results of the matching event on education that will be held in March 2023, UNITA common learning paths will be designed and launched. A wide variety of shared, personalised, multilingual, inclusive and dynamic study paths will be designed and implemented, thus developing the model of "UNITA à la carte", the mobility window and shared study programmes. The responsibles of degree programmes and Vice-rectors in education will support the development, adoption and implementation of a common UNITA framework for diplomas and personalised international learning paths. As central action within this framework, the UNITA Label will certify particularly internationalized degrees, in line with the EQAF and the criteria pointed out in the pilot call on the European degree label, also complying with the national regulations.

The production of degrees will be supported by Task teams 2.2, 2.4, 3.3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.4. The programmes will be included in the UNITA comprehensive course cartography, hosted in the UNITA inter-university digital campus.

    Activities & Sub-Tasks

Source documentation: In each WP folder, document entitled “WPx_full_description)

List of activities Actions to implement Deadline
A3.1.1 Introduce the new partners to the achievements and lessons learned from phase one The Task will start with a (UNITA) state-of-the-art of past experiences. It relies on many examples, either stand-alone or single, multiple, joint degree transformation exercises, or best practices on multilingual student-centred pedagogies and digital learning. (M1–M2)
    01/11/2023 – 31/12/2023
A3.1.2 Create the “UNITA à la carte” model By identifying existing and launching new UNITA learning opportunities, integrating them into the existing curricula based on a continuous update of the UNITA course cartography and facilitating their automatic recognition, also using the opportunity of the Flexibility window introduced in local curricula during UNITA first phase. Improve the model through the learner’s feedback. (M3–M48)
    01/01/2024 – 31/10/2027
A3.1.3 Introduce the mobility window (MW) in study programmes A mobility window is a period of mobility (either long or short, physical, blended, or virtual) embedded into the curriculum of a study programme. It implies an agreed set of learning activities fully recognised by the partner Universities. The MW benefits from digitalization of student mobility processes (EWP and European student card). We will identify a sample of study programmes on which to implement this mobility opportunity. (M6–M48)
    01/04/2024 – 31/10/2027
A3.1.4 Develop and promote a UNITA European label for joint study programmes We will define the main features of the UNITA label and disseminate it to the community for application. Following the European strategy for Universities, the UNITA label will attest learning outcomes resulting from our transnational cooperation and based on a common set of criteria, and it will be issued as a complementary certificate to the qualification of students. (M5–M11)
    01/03/2024 – 30/09/2024
A3.1.5 Design and implement shared UNITA degrees The relevant responsible actors will identify existing or design new programmes meeting the requirements of the UNITA degree label. The shared degree programmes will be implemented. (M11–M48)
    01/09/2024 – 31/10/2027

A3.1.1 Introduce the new partners to the achievements and lessons learned from phase one (M1–M2) * Is the benchmark available and validated?
    * Existing common framework with definitions?
    * Final version of LLL strategy document + Action plan?
    Example:
    Information by task co-leader
    To be defined: when ...
    • Meeting 1: presentation from U1 of results related to T3.1
    • Meetings with institutions from the same country to tackle practical aspects
    • Meeting of restitution, identification of potential remaining issues
A3.1.2 Create the “UNITA à la carte” model (M3–M48) * Definition of what UàlCarte is + current status of the involved concepts and tools (Cartography, CONNECT-UNITA)
    * Taking into account the result of FUW_ICTU23, analysis of results regarding the UàC initiative
    * Identify how UàC can be developed/supported for the ICTU23 groups
    * From FUW_ICTU23, identify additional study programs (not only those aiming to implement BIPs or COIL) that may support the UàC initiative

    * List of programs offering a possibility of personalization
    * Design of UàC strategy based on the “personalizability” of study programs: how to collect interest, needs and compatibility among the study programs, regarding UàC?
    * Specification of the tools related to each UàC mobility activity
    * Development of tools and procedure related to each initiative
A3.1.3 Introduce the mobility window (MW) in study programmes (M6–M48) * MW concepts: goals, models of LA, process supporting the dissemination to students and the automatic recognition (EWP?)
    * Link with 2.4: processes and calendars for Erasmus calls in all Universities
    * Identification of pilot curricula for testing MW, mainly based on FUW_ICTU23
    * Development of procedure for MW-testing period (a.y. 2025–26): tools, calendar, target
    * Strategy for duplicating MW to new study programs -> ICTU4 (a.y. 2026–27)
    * Experimentation with E+ mobility campaign and selection process (Testing period a.y. 2025–26)

    * Implementation of the procedure for MW in Erasmus+ call 2026–27
A3.1.4 Develop and promote a UNITA European label for joint study programmes (M5–M11) * Define the criteria for the UNITA label. In relation to this, it will be important to decide how these will intersect with the criteria envisaged for the European Degree Label
    * Specify the process for granting the UNITA label
    * Output: prepare a guide to explain what is the UNITA label, what are the defining criteria, what are the benefits of getting a label, how to apply for it, etc.
A3.1.5 Design and implement shared UNITA degrees (M11–M48)
