    Objectives

    • This Task aims to promote the green transition of UNITA, by sharing best practices, incorporating sustainability in education and research, and by stimulating environmentally responsible behaviour among the academic community.

    • Human Resources: List of staff on the task, roles and position: 32 people involved in the task. Patrícia Inácio and Daniel Munteanu are the co-leaders. Vice-rectors, academics, administrative staff and student representatives are present.
    • Financial: Budget allocated to the task: 78.500€ (8.500€ “Sustainable Campus” Contest / 10.000€ Prizes for best Masters Thesis on Sustainability / 40.000 UNITA Day of Nature/ 20.000€ Challenge-based.

    A5.3.3 Introduce sustainability topics into the students’ curricula
    • Preparing the graduates to address sustainability challenges in their future profession: short courses or modules on sustainability topics will be designed and offered for BA and MA students in collaboration with the academic responsible of the degrees
    • Redesign of existing courses to include the sustainability perspective
    • Awarding of prizes for the best master’s thesis on sustainability
    • Offering short-term courses or micro-credentials on green sustainability to lifelong learners

    A5.3.4 Promote green mobility
    • In cooperation with Task 2.4 (mobility) and interacting with students and staff, identify and promote the most sustainable and healthy ways of transport between UNITA Campuses and around them
    • Green mobility will be adopted as the preferred type
    • Introduce incentives to promote green mobility in all UNITA calls

    A5.3.5 Create a culture of sustainability
    • Organize events, round tables, and debates, including common events such as the “UNITA Day of Nature”, challenge-based/hands-on workshops, staff weeks, sustainability hackathons, and the “Sustainable Campus”

    • Connect student organizations promoting sustainability, in cooperation with Task 2.1
