    Task number 3
Name UNITA sharing of infrastructures and Knowledge
Strategic Axes Education and Pedagogical Innovation, Communities building, Research and Innovation
Workpackage Knowledge-based growth in rural, mountain and cross-border territories

    Objectives

    • Facilitate and improve the partners’ sharing practices of the research infrastructure and related services according to identified needs (not the principle objective, see objective below)
    • Offer to researchers (GEMINAE partners) a tool in order to build interesting researching projects together and build a research alliance.

    Inputs & Resources

    Source documentation:

    Resources

    • Human Resources: List of staff on the task, roles and position: 29 persons (all universities and institutes are represented) involved in the task. Profiles: mainly Professors in Research areas + VR/Head of Research divisions/services.
    • Financial: Budget allocated to the task: 200 k€.
    • Materials: Type of materials required (computers, software, scientific tools): Not applicable
    • Intangible: Type of intangible materials (communication tools, data bases,…): Data base. Already under constructed to be upgraded.

    Activities & Sub-Tasks

Source documentation: In each WP folder, document entitled “WPx_full_description)

List of activities Actions to implement Deadline
A4.3.1 Complete and update the mapping of partners infrastructures and related services developed by Re-UNITA Complete the current mapping by integrating the new partners' infrastructures and services; verify the coherence and completeness of data through partner consultation. 31/10/2024
A4.3.2 Consolidate the model for sharing research infrastructures and services, based on a decentralized management and Open Data approaches Finalize and validate a common model for sharing infrastructures across the alliance; ensure compliance with Open Science principles and decentralized access protocols. 31/01/2025
A4.3.3 Launch regular calls to co-finance access to infrastructures Design and implement a mechanism for launching periodic calls enabling researchers from all partners to access shared infrastructures, with co-financing support. 31/10/2027
A4.3.4 Assess the necessary system modifications Identify gaps or inefficiencies in the existing infrastructure sharing system through feedback analysis and performance evaluation. 31/10/2026
A4.3.5 Enhance the system by adapting necessary changes and intensifying the sharing of services and infrastructures Implement system upgrades based on the assessments made; increase frequency and variety of shared services and infrastructures available to partners. 31/10/2027

    Indicators

These indicators have been gathered from the different source (list below) and have been gathered from interviews driven by Task 5.4 UNITA impact observatory.

    Outputs

Source documentation: In each WP folder, document entitled “WPx_full_description)

These indicators have been chosen and agree during the Phase 2 proposal made to the European Commission.

To be defined by T5.4 members previously to interviews and to be proposed to task co leader

    Primary indicators

    Indicators gathered from the proposal

    • IND 4.1.aNumber of infrastructures and related services in the interactive map.
      Baseline 2022: 113
      Target 2027: 250

    Secondary indicators

To be defined by T5.4 members previously to interviews and to be proposed to task co leader

    • Primary indicators are correct as defined in the project. TT 4.3 did not defined other indicators for the moment but the number of shared infrastructures could be adjusted.

    Subtask Outputs

    Sub Task Outputs
    Indicate concerned sub task
    Outputs indicator
Expected results at the sub-task level / To be verified in interview with task co-leaders
    Source of data
To be verified in interview with task co-leaders
A4.3.1 Complete and update the mapping of partners infrastructures and related services developed by Re-UNITA
A4.3.5 Enhance the system by adapting necessary changes and intensifying the sharing of services and infrastructures
    - Number of shared infrastructures & number of usages
    - Platform uploading and updating (update to the newer version and uploads)
    - List of contact persons / points (available on datacloud)
    - UNITA website
    - UNIZAR Database
A4.3.4 Launch regular calls to co-finance access to infrastructures - Number of answers in the call launched
    - Result of the communication about the ‘infrastructure network’
    - List of contact persons / points (available on datacloud)
    - UNIZAR Database

    Outcomes

    Source documentation:

    Task Outcomes

    Task Outcomes
    Identify the outcomes
    Outcomes indicator
Expected results at the task level / To be verified in interview with task co-leaders
    Source of data
To be verified in interview with task co-leaders
What are the benefits of the actions for the alliance partners? How does the task transform the partners? * Number of usages of shared infrastructure on joint projects and publications, seminars, workshops, etc. (possibly by partner) * List of contact persons / points (available on datacloud)
    * UNIZAR Database
To what extent did the task contribute to achieve WP’s and/or UNITA’s goals? * Number (or percentage) of shared infrastructures used by external entities
    * Number of joint projects with UNITA members that use a shared infrastructure
    * List of contact persons / points (available on datacloud)
    * UNIZAR Database

    Impacts

    Source documentation:

Users / Beneficiaries Intern to UNITA End-Users / Beneficiaries extern to UNITA
    1) Who are the stakeholders benefiting of the task’s actions? * Partners of UNITA
    * Students, researchers, technicians, teachers from UNITA partners
    * To check with the T5.1 list
    * To be defined in interview
    * GEMINAE partners
    2) To what extent has the local/international society changed as a result of outcomes compared to before UNITA? What are the long term results for them? * To be defined in interview
    * More fruitful research projects and cooperation between partners
    * Shared infrastructure (internally at first)
    * Valorisation of the results from the ‘shared infrastructure network’
    * To be defined in interview
    * These impact changes will be first internally but will be extended to our external partners (from GEMINAE for example)
    * The idea of shared infrastructures is to be shared within UNITA, the direct beneficiaries involve the UNITA members – it could be used for research or teaching purposes.
