    Objectives

    • Development of long-term visions and strategies for effective and inclusive governance at alliance level, its relationship with tasks and UNITA constellation projects and per domain e.g., green, digital, data and open data, sustainability, open science, open education and linguistic policy including the link with European, national and regional bodies and authorities.
    • Setting up and maintaining governance structures, integrating new partners involving students, academic and administrative staff stimulating the involvement of associated partners

    Inputs / Resources

    • Human Resources: List of staff on the task, roles and positions: 39 people involved in the task. Mario Giacobini and Vignollet Laurence  are the co-leaders. (Rectors?), vice-rectors, academics, administrative staff and student representatives are present. This list will change. Rectors shouldn’t be listed for now
    • Financial: Budget allocated to the task: To be detailed: a general budget for WP1 is defined (560.460€+259.759€) but no specific distribution per task.
    • Materials: Type of materials required (computers, software, scientific tools,…):: Datacloud, Big Blue Button… others? To be detailed. Basically all of data cloud tools for this task.
    • Intangible: Type of intangible materials (communication tools, data bases,…): To be detailed. UNITA week each 6 months

    A1.1.1 Introduce the new partners to the achievements and lessons learned from phase one (M1-M2) New partners have been associated with the project since June 2021, leading to a shorter and smoother acquaintance process. 01/2024
    Update and maintain the governance structures (Governance Board, Student Assembly, Quality and Evaluation Board) Fully integrate new partners and involve students, staff, and associated partners. Confirm and communicate the nomination, election, and rotation processes for all governance bodies. Analyze current governance practices at partner and alliance level (benchmarking where appropriate) and, in cooperation with the Student Assembly and T3.4, implement tools to encourage democratic participation in decision-making. Test, adjust, and share results with all stakeholders. 11/2027
    Establish the agenda of the new bodies of the enlarged alliance Develop meeting programs in coordination with Task 1.2 to improve governance based on pilot-phase experiences and the alliance’s enlargement. Organize two UNITA weeks per year (each hosted by a different partner) with physical meetings among Governance Board UNITA, Conseil Stratégique of the Legal Entity, Quality & Evaluation Board, Student Assembly, Task Teams, and Work Packages Teams. Integrate the Legal Entity in the alliance setup and activities. 11/2024
    Coordinate the development of the UNITA model for a European University Collaborate with governance bodies (Governance Board, Student Assembly, Quality and Evaluation Board), the Management Committee (Task Team 1.2), the UNITA Executive Coordinator, and the Office Coordinator, as well as academic and support staff representatives, to co-design the medium-term vision of UNITA. Build a model outlining the evolution of the Legal Entity and co-design the long-term vision with relevant task teams (e.g. TT1.2, TT1.3, TT2.2, TT2.4, TT3.1, TT3.2, TT3.4, TT4.1, TT4.2, TT4.4, TT5.2, TT5.3, TT5.4, TT5.5) and other experts. Present and discuss this model in a forum or workshop with the European Commission, National Authorities, and other Alliances. 11/2027
