    Task number 3
Name UNITA sharing of infrastructures and Knowledge
Strategic Axes Education and Pedagogical Innovation, Communities building, Research and Innovation
Workpackage Knowledge-based growth in rural, mountain and cross-border territories

    Objectives

    • Facilitate and improve the partners’ sharing practices of the research infrastructure and related services according to identified needs (not the principle objective, see objective below)
    • Offer to researchers (GEMINAE partners) a tool in order to build interesting researching projects together and build a research alliance.

    Inputs & Resources

    Source documentation:

    Resources

    • Human Resources: List of staff on the task, roles and position: 29 persons (all universities and institutes are represented) involved in the task. Profiles: mainly Professors in Research areas + VR/Head of Research divisions/services.
    • Financial: Budget allocated to the task: 200 k€.
    • Materials: Type of materials required (computers, software, scientific tools): Not applicable
    • Intangible: Type of intangible materials (communication tools, data bases,…): Data base. Already under constructed to be upgraded.

    Activities & Sub-Tasks

List of activities Actions to implement Deadline
A4.3.1 Complete and update the mapping of partners infrastructures and related services developed by Re-UNITA Complete the current mapping by integrating the new partners' infrastructures and services; verify the coherence and completeness of data through partner consultation. 31/10/2024
A4.3.2 Consolidate the model for sharing research infrastructures and services, based on a decentralized management and Open Data approaches Finalize and validate a common model for sharing infrastructures across the alliance; ensure compliance with Open Science principles and decentralized access protocols. 31/01/2025
A4.3.3 Launch regular calls to co-finance access to infrastructures Design and implement a mechanism for launching periodic calls enabling researchers from all partners to access shared infrastructures, with co-financing support. 31/10/2027
A4.3.4 Assess the necessary system modifications Identify gaps or inefficiencies in the existing infrastructure sharing system through feedback analysis and performance evaluation. 31/10/2026
A4.3.5 Enhance the system by adapting necessary changes and intensifying the sharing of services and infrastructures Implement system upgrades based on the assessments made; increase frequency and variety of shared services and infrastructures available to partners. 31/10/2027

    Indicators

These indicators have been gathered from the different source (list below) and have been gathered from interviews driven by Task 5.4 UNITA impact observatory.

Source documentation: In each WP folder, document entitled “WPx_full_description)

These indicators have been chosen and agree during the Phase 2 proposal made to the European Commission.

    Impacts

    Source documentation:

Users / Beneficiaries Intern to UNITA End-Users / Beneficiaries extern to UNITA
    1) Who are the stakeholders benefiting of the task’s actions? * Partners of UNITA
    * Students, researchers, technicians, teachers from UNITA partners
    * To check with the T5.1 list
    * To be defined in interview
    * GEMINAE partners
    2) To what extent has the local/international society changed as a result of outcomes compared to before UNITA? What are the long term results for them? * To be defined in interview
    * More fruitful research projects and cooperation between partners
    * Shared infrastructure (internally at first)
    * Valorisation of the results from the ‘shared infrastructure network’
    * To be defined in interview
    * These impact changes will be first internally but will be extended to our external partners (from GEMINAE for example)
    * The idea of shared infrastructures is to be shared within UNITA, the direct beneficiaries involve the UNITA members – it could be used for research or teaching purposes.
