    Objectives[edit | edit source]

    Develop a UNITA international relations policy to scale up our collaborations in Europe and beyond, notably working with European University Alliances and with our partners in the GEMINAE network.

    The following objectives are drawn from the Internationalisation Strategy that the team is developing:

    • Cooperate towards the consolidation of the European Universities Initiative and contribute to in-creasing the global competitiveness of European Higher Education and Research Area.
    • Making the GEMINAE network lively and efficient.
    • Establishing a global ecosystem of Romance language universities.
    • Involving the academic community (staff) in internationalization and supporting the recognition of their actions.
    • Defining a model of sustainable and socially responsible internationalization.

    • Human Resources: List of staff on the task, roles and position:

    1Introduce the new partners to the UNITA international network.Chart and examine current inter- alliance and international collaborations of all the partners. Introduce the new ones: to the FOREU2 network of the 24 European Alliances of the 2nd wave; to the students of European universities meetings; and to the European universities' community. Redefine with the new UNITA partners the list of universities involved in the GEMINAE initiative, adding to it new partners that can bring an added value to the Alliance. Then design the UNITA international relations policy strategy and plan according to the UNITA priority fields in education, R&I and capacity building (Tasks 2.2, 2.3, 2.5, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 4.1, 4.2). Create an action plan for the following years.(M1-M12)
    2Enhance the GEMINAE network.In order to integrate progressively the GEMINAE universities in UNITA different activities we will offer to GEMINAE partners, among others: virtual (namely UCIL, intercomprehension courses) and physical mobility programmes for students and staff (including KA171); rural mobility opportunities for UNITA students in their countries; participation in staff weeks on relevant thematic and best-practices exchanges; access to the thematic research cartography; or procedures to exchange and cooperate on shared funding opportunities, including the collaboration with other alliances.(M13-48)
    3Participate and organize inter-alliance events.To exchange good practices, raise issues, propose solutions and present the UNITA model of institutionalized European University. Particularly two in presence biennial meetings with GEMINAE partners, possibly in parallel with a major international event (such as EAIE), will be organized (M23, M47), also for the granting of the Best Practises Award. Discuss in a forum or workshop with the European Commission, the National Authorities, and other Alliances the role, the governance and the mission of European Universities. Interact with European Associations of Universities, and especially those focused in UNITA themes.(M13-M48)
    4Collect and assess feedback from target groups and end-users.In collaboration with Task 5.4 on the impact of the actions undertaken. Accommodate the impact measurement methodology to the feedback received.(M25-M48)
